CrossFit is an intense form of functional training where athletes are often pushing their bodies to the absolute limit. On a daily basis, I consult many CrossFit athletes who have either 1) injured themselves or 2) are interested in preventatively avoiding injury in the first place. At Chiro Clinic Moncton, I consult many patients experiencing discomfort in the lower back and buttocks, which occasionally extends into the leg or foot. It's important for the chiropractor to determine if this is due to sciatica, or something else. Sciatica is described as pain radiating along the path of the sciatic nerve. At Chiro Clinic Moncton, I occasionally get asked if a referral from a patient's family doctor is required prior to seeing a Chiropractor. The answer is - NO. In Canada, chiropractors are primary care providers and do not require any referral from any other type of doctor. Additionally, insurance companies also do not require a referral to make a claim and the chiropractor may begin treatment at any time. At Chiro Clinic Moncton, we offer Direct Billing for most insurance companies - which means less out-of-pocket costs for the patient!
